Introduction
I know what you think!
You find martial arts super cool and have been playing with the idea of trying a Martial arts class for a long time, but you have too many worrys that hold you back?
Let me tell you something you are not to small, to weak, to old, to
fragile, to scared, to what ever!
all these things exist only in your head.
I’ve never seen a community in my life that was as openly welcoming and respectful as the world of martial arts.
When I stepped into my local gym and decided to try kickboxing for the first time I had no idea what to expect.
Looking back now i can tell you honestly it was one of the best decisions of my life.
I tell you today im obsessed and I know you will be too.
Thats why i write this article.
The goal is to get you into that gym for the first time, I know thats all you need to get addicted.
Thats why I (the dude on the left) give you 33 reasons to start out today.

1. It’s extreme fun
I’ve tried a lot of sports in my life, but no sport ever came close to martial arts as far as the fun factor is concerned.
There is nothing like hitting someone in the face shortly after getting to know each other just to hug afterwards.
2. It’s a amazing fullbody workout
Anyone who has ever been on a treadmill in a gym knows what I’m talking about when I say cardio training can be really boring.
this is by no means true for martial arts.
We usually train for one and a half hours but it always feels like twenty minutes.
However, you not only train your condition but also most of your muscles.
In addition to that most martial art schools where I live also offer the possibility to train with weights.
3. Loosing weight
I dont care what you eat, when you do a real martial arts workout 2-3 times a week you will loose weight.
I have not found such a physically demanding training as in martial arts.
The first few times I actually had troubles to carry my training bag and to walk home.
4. Improved reflexes
Especially if you compete in sparring sessions regularly you will notice an improvement of your reflexes and and your hand eye coordination.
5. You become stronger
Before I started out with kickboxing I did bodybuilding.
Even tho I lost body mass, I have retained my power.
If you have not done any sports before or no muscle training you will definitely get stronger.
the best thing about it is this power is in contrast to many exercises in body building linked to movements that you have to perform in everyday life.
Wich makes combat sport way more practical.
6. Martial arts is for every body type
It does not matter if you are tall or short rather narrow or wide, if you want to bulk up or loose some weight everyone finds a place in martial arts.
Even when you want to compete thanks to the weight classes, this is no problem.
7. Martial arts knows no differences
In martial arts a punch is always a punch and a kick always stays a kick regardless of gender religion or Politics or whatever.
8. You can practise martial arts at any age.
It doesn’t matter how old you are when you start your martial arts career.
And you can and should practise martial arts at any age.
We have a good mix of older and younger students in our gym and everyone fits in perfectly.
No one plays down when you pursue your own pace.
9. It’s safer than you think
Do not get me wrong Light injuries such as blue spots or bruises are commonplace.
But serious injuries as in soccer or football are very rare.
With a good sport anoint, I recommend arnika, you’ll be back in the gym in no time.
10. Improved confidence
One of the biggest impacts of martial arts is the great improvment of confidence you will expierience.
To compete in martial arts requires a high degree of courage and self-confidence.
Espacially childrencan benefit from that.
This can lead to better grades and a happier life overall.
The increased self-esteem that you or your children gain through martial arts can be transferred to other areas of life such as work or personal relationships.
11. Better Flexibility
Repeated stretching of the muscles tendons and joints together with repetitive movements, such as those used in high kicks, increase the flexibility enormously and prevent subsequent illnesses in the movement apparatus.
It also improves your posture!
12. Self defence
This should always be the last option!
But if you can’t avoid a situatuation where you have to defend yourself or your family martial arts gives you big advantages.
13. It reduces anxiety
Knowing that you can defend yourself helps you tremendously against any fears and gives you the opportunity to face the world openly and confidently.
14. Increased self-esteem
Learning martial arts is not easy and requires a high degree of discipline.
However, if you manage to go throu it and exercise regularly, this success will improve your self-esteem.
15. Martial arts are super cool
Your friends and family will question you and you will always find yourself in situations in which you answer questions about your training.
Saying that you practice martial arts conveys the image of someone who is tough, self-confident and disciliatory – that does not only appeal to women but also in job interviews.
16. Discipline
Discipline wants to be learned and practiced A hard training like martial arts is perfectly suited for this.
17. Its a great way to teach children.
I can not think of anything that can teach children better what is important in life.
Discipline, Teamwork, Social skills, Kindness, and mutch more.
18. Various possibilities
Martial arts offers something for everyone, whether you are looking for full contact or no contact at all.
Whether you are a boxing fan or you prefer kickboxing whether you want to practise judo or jiu jitsu, or do you want to do it all together?
Martial arts offers the perfect mix for you.
19. Improves youre social skills
You have to pay close attention to what your opposite is doing and how he reacts so as not to hurt or annoy him or her.
You have to learn to read and trust your opposite.
20. Social networking
people from all sorts of positions and interests train martial arts.
Your local gym is the perfect place to meet new people and to create professional as well as private connections.
21. It’s never end of the season
In contrast to many sports that can be carried out outside martial arts are operated throughout the year without interruption.
22. Martial arts are international
It does not make a difference if you are in America or in Thailand.
You will quickly find a martial arts school where you are welcome and in good hands.
23. Personal Growth
The hard training that you will experience and the sparring competitions will take you from time to time to your limits and beyond.
That brings a great opportunity for you to grow in character over time.
24. Improved mental health
Regular training is associated with a fitter brain and a lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s.
25. Reduce stress
Working out and hitting a sandbag is a great way to relieve stress and live a healthier, happier life.
26. Join a community
A martial arts school is not like every other gym its a community characterized by respect.
27. It’s cheap
Compared to other sports, membership in a fighting school and the necessary equipment are favorable.
28. You can train it anywhere
You cant go to youre gym?
No problem you can train martial arts anywhere even at home!
29. You come in quickly
Even if you are not an expert right away, you can quickly see successes and find very good in the training.
30. Learning for life
Even if you get into it fast, you can continue learning in martial arts throughout your whole life.
31. You get to compete
In contrast to other sports, you can quickly compete with others, which increases the motivation and learning speed.
32. Switch off the world
One of the best feelings for me is when i’m sparring and switching off the whole world.
In this moment, you only have yourself and your opposite in mind.
This can have a therapeutic effect.
33. Stand up for yourself and others
Martial arts gives you the necessary backing for you to stand up for yourself and your values whether in the job in the relationship or in everyday life.
Honestly, i could do this all day but i think i should have already convinced you.
You should still have time today to complete your first martial arts training!
If you are not convinced or have any questions please feel free to leave me a comment or write me directly through my blog health-bells.com
Or maybe you know someone who urgently should train a round then feel free to share this post. Thank you!
